Oxfordshire Girls' Football League to Start U7s Football in 2024/25
Oxfordshire Girls’ Football League has announced that it is to launch a brand-new Under-7s division for the start of the 2024/25 season.
Starting in September 2024, the new division provides a fantastic opportunity for clubs across Oxfordshire to introduce Under-7 girls’ football if they haven’t already, as well as competitive football for those clubs with existing U7 teams.
Oxfordshire FA encourages as many of our clubs to look into recruiting new players to help us continue to grow the female game within our county.
In addition, we are pleased to provide details of funding available via the Barclays Community Football Fund, in partnership with Sports, to support the development of new female coaches to help facilitate the introduction of Under-7 girls’ teams!

Claire Finn, League Secretary of the Oxfordshire Girls’ Football League, said: “We’re looking forward to completing our girls’ provision from Under-7s to Under-18s next season, and would encourage all clubs to consider entering a team into our new Under-7s division.”
James Shiplee, Senior Football Development Officer at Oxfordshire FA, added: “This is a really exciting time, with the Oxfordshire Girls’ Football League introducing Under-7s football to the pathway. We look forward to seeing how many teams enter the new division, and supporting the league in continuing to grow the number of girls playing football in Oxfordshire.”
