Oxfordshire Schools FA U14 Girls reach ESFA final
The Oxfordshire Schools FA U14 Girls’ team will compete at the showpiece event of the English Schools’ Football Association competition, with the date set to be confirmed in the near future.
Oxfordshire’s route to the final has been magnificent, with victories over Gloucestershire, Staffordshire and Shropshire in the group stages before overcoming Northumberland in the quarter-final.
The semi-final saw Oxfordshire overcome blustery conditions, playing wonderful football and scoring some great goals to beat a resilient Lancashire team and book their place in the final.
We would like to thank the following schools for contributing players to the team:
Bartholomew School
Bloxham School
Burford School
Cherwell School
The Cooper School
Faringdon Community College
Headington School
Henry Box School
Marlborough School
The Oxford Academy
Wykham Park Academy
Oxfordshire FA wishes the team the very best in the final!
We would also like to take this opportunity to remind readers of the #LetGirlsPlay initiative taking place on Wednesday 9th March, which is designed to get as many girls as possible in school all playing football on the same day.
