Oxfordshire FA to Host FA Referee Courses in September and October
Oxfordshire FA is delighted to announce that it is to host TWO FA Referees Courses in September and October.
The forthcoming FA Referees Courses will take place at The Oxford Academy on 29 september (6.30pm to 9.30pm) and 2 October (9.15am to 5pm), and 27 October (6.30pm to 9.30pm) and 30 October (9.15am to 5.00pm).
Attendance on both days of each course is required to obtain the qualification. These face-to-face sessions will include both practical and classroom learning and will cost £135. Participants must be aged 14 or over at the date of the first session.
To complete the qualification, learners will need to referee five games of 9v9 or 11v11 football in your local community. Details of how you are appointed to games will be provided during the course.
The FA Referee Course gives candidates the skills and knowledge to referee all levels of the game, from mini soccer through to traditional 9v9 and 11v11 football.
The course has been redeveloped to meet the needs of the modern game with a mixture of online learning (explained below) and face to face sessions (those mentioned above) and more details of the course content can be found by clicking here.
PRE-REQUISITES
Before being able to register for the course then you MUST complete some mandatory pre-course online Introduction to Refereeing modules. These are free and can be accessed by clicking here
There are five modules to work through and it will take approximately 90 minutes to complete. Videos are used throughout to demonstrate how the Law should be applied and there are activities to reinforce all the key points. There are some questions at the end of each module, all of which must be answered correctly to successfully complete the learning.
In addition, ALL candidates must have a current FA Safeguarding Children Qualification before attending the face-to-face session, if you do not have one or yours has expired, please follow the instructions below:
If you are aged 14 or 15 at the start of the face to face sessions then you must complete the free Safeguarding For All course which takes about 45 minutes and can be accessed by clicking here.
If you are aged 16+ at the start of the face-to-face sessions, then you must complete the new Safeguarding Children Workshop which costs £30 and takes about 90 minutes to complete. To access this course, please click here.
