“Giving young people a voice across Oxfordshire”
The OFA Youth Leadership Team is a collective of passionate and enthusiastic young people who want to make a difference to youth football across Oxfordshire.
Meet the OxFA Youth Leadership Team
Andy Hunt
Andy is the YLT chair and has been a part of the team since 2018. As the chair, Andy is part of the Oxfordshire FA IAG and helps to influence OFA strategy and decision making from the voice of the youth.
Andy has been volunteering for 12 years now, in a number of different roles from vice chair of a local club, running teams & being a level 4 referee.
Andy is looking forward to seeing NextGen in action and working alongside the rest of the team to provide the voice of young people in Oxfordshire.
Ibrahim Hanif
Ibrahim coaches across Banbury, supporting all children to play football. He currently plays for Kayi FC and is looking to progress with his coaching badges.
Ibrahim wanted to join the YLT to make sure the youth voice was being heard across the county and to support local projects and events.
Mohammed Hanif
Mohammed is currently a volunteer and coaches around 30-40 kids between the ages 7-12 in football. He is also looking to complete his UEFA C Licence in the coming year.
Mohammed joined the YLT was because it is a good opportunity to get involved with The FA and to voice opinions to which could turn out a success.
Toby Ball
This is Toby’s second year on the YLT and was an integral part to it’s success last year. Toby is always keen to make sure every project is meaningful and portraying what they youth want to hear.
Toby plays for Charlbury Town Youth and coaches in his spare time.
Lewis Skinner
Lewis currently coaches U14s football at Launton Athletic and referees in the Oxfordshire Youth League.
Lewis was also named the ‘Match Official of the Year’ at the 2024 Oxfordshire FA Awards.
He wanted to be part of the YLT to make a difference and is looking forward planning and attending events this season.
Livie Smith
Livie is currently on the School Leadership Team, which allows her to travel to schools or schools visit the team, to involve youth in activities and sports.
She has also given a couple of 1-2-1 sessions with younger female goalkeepers.
Livie joined the YLT to continue to support and encourage the next gen with sports and activities. She also wants to better herself and learn the best way to help others coming through, in addition to being able to work with others to encourage today's youth and support them in wanting to be involved in sports.
Max Hook
This is Max’s second year as part of the YLT and was a fantastic voice for the youth of the county. Max also referees and plays for Bicester Park.
Max has enjoyed being part of this team and looks forward to what the team can achieve together this season and beyond. With having experience volunteering in his local club, asking and getting feedback on how to create a good environment in grassroots football, it has helped Max interact and be involved within the plans for projects with the team.
What does the Youth Leadership Team Do?
Within Oxfordshire we have over 700 youth teams that exist to provide footballing opportunities for young people. Over recent years we have witnessed young people taking on more responsibility within the game and becoming involved in areas such as refereeing, coaching, volunteering and marketing. The YLT provides a platform for those young people to share their ideas, gain experience and work with other likeminded young people with the support of the OFA to plan and deliver projects.
Example projects and opportunities could include:
- Youth engagement projects
- Volunteer Appreciation Programmes
- OFA Twitter takeovers
- Supporting Wildcats provision
- Supporting regional Futsal events
- Attending youth league meetings
Members of the OFA YLT will also receive a benefits package which will include aspects such as:
- Branded Nike Kit
- Discounted OFA Courses
- Access to CPD Training Workshops run by Oxfordshire FA
- Mentoring
- Opportunity to attend the FA Leadership Academy at St. George’s Park (Application)
- References if needed
- Travel expenses
