The future of football in Oxfordshire

Welcome to NextGen – the future of football in Oxfordshire!

What is NextGen?

NextGen is a brand-new and innovative FREE four-year youth leadership programme, aimed specifically at people aged 14-24 living in Oxfordshire.

Our aim is to engage, inspire and develop NextGen members to support an active involvement and progression in the beautiful game, but to maximise potential beyond football.

NextGen is a one-of-a-kind programme and supports individuals across ALL areas of the game.

As well as coaching and refereeing, NextGen looks at the roles of future Treasurer, Secretary, Chairperson - and all of the often-unseen roles at grassroots football clubs.

Volunteering through your local football club can also include helping them with inclusion, IT, PR, communications, marketing, catering, maintenance, painting, administration, finance, event management, sports science, coaching, youth development...the opportunities are endless and there really is something for all.

In addition to gaining an understanding of the various roles in the game, NextGen members will be supported with opportunities to continuously learn – and the chance to achieve qualifications to enhance a CV and career ambitions.

WHY JOIN NEXTGEN?

Throughout a season, NextGen will host EIGHT different face-to-face and virtual sessions, but that’s not all…

…there will also be a tiered progression pathway, which sets targets for NextGen members as something to work towards.

On the journey, they will also collect rewards, as well as receiving recognition for their accomplishments through our monthly newsletter and social media channels.

PLUS – NextGen members will receive age-appropriate Oxfordshire FA Rewards discounts to be used across over 4,000 retailers via our new rewards platform.

We’ll also provide professional CV and career guidance, as well as support in college or job applications.

the ray mills trust fund

funding for young coaches & referees

The Ray Mills Trust Fund was set up in memory of Ray Mills, a past Chairman, Director and Vice President of the Oxfordshire FA of which he served for over 25 years.

The purpose of the Trust Fund is to encourage young people to apply for financial help to go on coaching courses (16-19) and referee courses (14-19), so that they can help provide quality coaching and refereeing at Oxfordshire FA affiliated clubs.
