Aliyah Anthony Appointed Equal Game Ambassador
Oxfordshire FA is delighted to announce the appointment of Aliyah Anthony as our new Equal Game Ambassador.
Aliyah will be joining our team officially on Monday 10 March, in a role that focuses on helping to drive the delivery of inclusive, safe, and fun and accessible football for females across Oxfordshire.
With Aliyah’s support, our work will continue in ensuring that we’re continually improving opportunities for women and girls to play, coach, volunteer for, and help run their local community football clubs with practical and measurable Equal Game Action Plans.
Aliyah has a strong connection to the women and girls’ game throughout Oxfordshire. Having previously coached at Watford Football Club, in addition to being a fitness instructor at Middlesex University, where she obtained a first-class degree in Sports & Teaching, Aliyah currently works full-time as a tutor and coach at Velocity Football and is the Head of Women’s Football at Oxford City Football Club.
With Velocity, she supports young athletes in both their education and football development. In addition to this, Aliyah coaches and manages her own U13s girls’ team to help develop the next generation of female players.
Aliyah will combine this ambassadorial role with Oxfordshire FA alongside her roles within the game.
“My goal is to create more opportunities for women and girls in the sport, ensuring they have a clear pathway to develop and thrive,” said Aliyah of her appointment to the role of Equal Game Ambassador with Oxfordshire FA.
“I strongly believe in breaking down barriers and making football a truly inclusive space where every player feels valued and equal. Diversity in the game is essential, and I am committed to fostering an environment where young players, regardless of background, have the support and opportunities they deserve to succeed.”
We’re delighted to have Aliyah join the Oxfordshire FA team.
