Howden Boot Exchange

Howden Insurance Boot Exchange Programme Launched

Exchange an old pair of boots for a new one – FREE!

It’s our goal to inclusively bring people, from all backgrounds, together to enjoy playing football and to have active, healthy fulfilling lives.

As such, we are delighted to have partnered with Howden Insurance to create the Howden Insurance Boot Exchange, which will play a huge role in making football freely accessible and more affordable to all throughout Oxfordshire.

Through the programme, from 9 September 2024, people will be able to visit their local Howden Insurance office within the county and swap a pair of boots that no longer fit, for a pair that do.

It's that simple, and it’s completely free of charge!

The following Howden Insurance offices are part of our pilot of this scheme, so anyone interested in exchanging an old pair of boots for a different pair can head to:

  • 7-9 High Street, Abingdon, Oxfordshire, OX14 5BB
  • 9-10 Market Place, Banbury, Oxfordshire, OX16 5LG
  • 47 Market Square, Bicester, Oxfordshire OX26 6AJ
  • The Clock House, Burford Road, Carterton, Oxfordshire, OX18 3AA
  • 4-8 Langdale Gate, Witney, Oxfordshire, OX28 6EY

If anyone has any spare boots - including astroturf ones – and would simply like to drop off and donate, please drop them into any of the participating Howden offices. All donations are hugely appreciated, and supports the stock in supply for those exchanging boots.

In addition, we are pleased to announce that Howden Insurance will become the new sponsor of our annual Golden Boot competition, which celebrates the top scorer across all 17 of our County Cup competitions.

The winner of last year’s Golden Boot award, Chloe of Witney Wikings, became the recipient of a brand-new pair of Nike football boots from Oxfordshire FA.

Jonathan Duckworth, Chief Executive of Oxfordshire FA, said: “The Howden Insurance Boot Exchange is a game-changing opportunity, which will help us ensure that football is always affordable and accessible for everyone throughout Oxfordshire. We’re really excited by this ground-breaking new partnership with Howden for this season and beyond.

“With 1,400 local football teams, 70% of which are youth age groups, and over 20,000 players involved in the game, our reach provides a great way to ensure sustainable corporate social responsibility. Continuous improvement opportunities like this have a positive and lasting contribution to local communities across Oxfordshire.”
