Sport Integrity Matters to Conduct Disciplinary Investigations

An enhanced partnership with SIM will extend into the 2024-25 season and beyond.

Oxfordshire FA is pleased to confirm an enhanced partnership with Sport Integrity Matters who, for the 2024-25 season and beyond, will independently conduct all disciplinary investigations and related matters throughout football in Oxfordshire.

Founded by former FA Head of Judicial Services, Mark Ives, Sport Integrity Matters provides professional support and advice to a number of County FAs, across a range of disciplinary and governance matters.

Through our partnership, Sport Integrity Matters (SIM) will be carrying out ALL disciplinary investigations. This will include liaising with relevant parties to gather evidence. SIM will then undertake a review of the evidence and raise any necessary charges, as determined under FA regulations.

Sport Integrity Matters will also support and arrange the hearing process, and liaise with clubs to leagues on any disciplinary-related matters.

Should anyone need to provide statements to support any investigation, we ask all of our Club Officials to assist Sport Integrity Matters with their investigation. This should ensure any process is handled quickly and objectively.

Let’s Work Together to Kick Out Bad Behaviour

Oxfordshire FA is absolutely committed to promoting The FA’s Respect campaign throughout Oxfordshire. We fundamentally believe in fair play. Everyone should always feel safe, welcome, supported, and treated with dignity and respect.

Whether you play, watch, referee, coach, volunteer, or have other roles within the sport, we’re dedicated to continued proactive promotion of positive behaviours, and aim to share best practice.

We will tackle anything which goes against the spirit of the game with tougher sanctions.

As we start the new season, we need our clubs, leagues, match officials, coaches, captains, players, and spectators to support both national and local initiatives to promote good behaviour and positive culture.

Clubs that create a positive atmosphere and culture will be applauded and rewarded by Oxfordshire FA.

During the season, we will be working closely with Club Welfare Offices to share best practice, and look forward to connecting with clubs to introduce Positive Football Ambassadors to encourage and promote good behaviour at matches.

As always, supporting our match officials remains a key priority. This season, we will continue to roll-out our ground-breaking new refereeing app, which was piloted last season through our strategic partnership with the Oxfordshire Youth Football League.
