Sanctioning an Event

Are you looking to get your club’s Tournament sanctioned? Are you looking to get approval for a Charity Match?

Don't worry, you're in the right place and the good news is, it's never been easier to sanction an event with us.

Simply:

  • Complete and return our Event Sanction Form to Oxfordshire FA (at least 14 days prior to your event).
  • Send in a copy of your event rules for clarification.
  • A £25 sanction fee (Invoice will be sent directly to the Club Secretary via XERO).

Then, all you need to do is send your completed forms to Support@OxfordshireFA.com.

After that, just sit back and let us do the work. Once everything has been completed, you'll receive a letter confirming the sanction for your event, along with a specific sanction number.

Applications to Play Foreign Opposition

Has your club lined up fixtures against a Foreign Club, either in England or Abroad? Getting approval from the FA has never been simpler.

Permission is not needed for one-off matches against teams from Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales however there is a simple form that is required for matches against teams from the Republic of Ireland and other FIFA countries.

If you are required to complete the Application to Play Foreign Opposition form, once filled in please forward to Support@OxfordshireFA.com so Oxfordshire FA can complete the remaining sections before forwarding to the Sanctioning Department at the FA on your clubs behalf.

International Clearance for Players

Did you know that International Clearance is required by all players aged over 10 when moving across borders to play Football? If you didn’t, here are a couple of helpful tips to ask when signing players for your club:

  • Make sure you ask your players if they have ever played outside of England before you register them.
  • If they have played abroad, then make sure you complete the International Clearance Request Form and send it direct to Registrations@TheFA.com.
  • Don’t play the player concerned until you have received clearance from the FA. The FA will try and action your request as soon as possible.

To request the relevant form for your club to complete, please get in touch with us.

faqs

All charity matches and tournaments must be sanctioned by the host club or they will be in breach of Oxfordshire FA Membership Rules. Failure to sanction will mean that clubs are not covered by either their Public Liability Insurance or Personal Accident Insurance and will also mean that registered referees cannot be appointed.
It's important that you make sure your event is sanctioned by us. Unfortunately, if this isn't done - and should have been - everyone involved in the event (ALL Clubs & Referees) will be liable to disciplinary action.
On this page, you'll find a document which lists of all approved events for the relevant season, along with contact details for each one.

If you can't find the specific event you're looking for please get in touch with us and we'll provide an update on the application.
All Matches must be played in strict accordance with the IFAB Laws of the Game. All Clubs or organisations given permission to play matches abroad are directed to ensure that, both on and off the field, members of the party should uphold the prestige of The Association and of their Clubs.
Ideally, all applications must be sent to the FA at least 60 days prior to the event. However, if it has passed the deadline, please still send in your application and the FA will endeavour to provide permission before the match/tournament.
If you have players who originate or have played from those countries, then you will be required to complete the International Clearance Form.
Please bear in mind that it is not always possible to get clearances immediately. The FA has to deal with dozens of foreign Associations and sometimes the process is slow. Please also remember the time differences in some countries, especially America and Australia.
