About the Cup
The Mickey Lewis U15 Youth Cup sponsored by Isinglass Consulting is a knockout club cup competition open to all to affiliated youth teams at U15 as approved by Oxfordshire FA. To be eligible to participate players must have reached the age of 13 as of midnight on the 31st August of the current playing season.
History of the Cup
The U15 Youth Cup sponsored by Isinglass Consulting was first contested in the 2003/04 season and won by Bicester Town. Oxford City hold the most title wins with five helped by a three-season winning streak after final wins against Garden City, Bullingdon Youth and Mansfield Road Juniors from 2019 to 2023.
In the 2023/24 season, the competition was re-named in tribute to former Oxford United player, coach and caretaker manager, Mickey Lewis. Mickey played over 350 games for Oxford United as well as managing them twice, and was a key figure in the 1996 promotion winning campaign and 2010 Conference Premier Play-Off Final victory at Wembley. He also coached at Abingdon Town, Oxford City, Oxford University, Stonesfield Strikers and Summertown Stars. He sadly passed away at the age of 56 having made a massive contribution to local football and he is very much missed by everyone.
The current holders of the title and first winners of the Mickey Lewis U15 Youth Cup were Tower Hill. It was also the first time Tower had lifted the U15 Youth Cup which came following a 3-0 final victory over Bure Park at Thame United's ASM Stadium. The game featured a minute's applause to celebrate Mickey's life and the trophy was presented to Tower Hill by his wife Suzanne.
