Steve Simmonds Under-14 Youth Cup

About the Cup

The Steve Simmonds U14 Youth Cup is a knockout club cup competition open to all to affiliated youth teams at U14 as approved by Oxfordshire FA. To be eligible to participate players must have reached the age of 12 as of midnight on the 31st August of the current playing season.

History of the Cup

The U14 Youth Cup was first contested in the 2002/03 season and was won by Oxford Blackbird Boys who also won the competition in 2012 following a 5-2 victory over Deddington Town Colts.

The competition was re-named the Steve Simmonds U14 Youth Cup following the sad passing of the former OFA Director in 2019. Steve had been a loyal and dedicated supporter of local football for 36 years including the Oxford Mail Youth League, where he was Secretary for over 20 years, Kidlington Youth Football Club and Oxfordshire FA where he served as a director for 16 years and ran a number of youth cup competitions including the U14 Youth Cup.

Oxford City have been the most successful club in the competition with four title of which their latest came in 2022 following a 4-1 extra-time victory over North Leigh.

The current holders of the trophy are Banbury United Youth United who added to their victories in 2007 and 2008 following a 2-0 win over Clanfield (85) at Kidlington FC's Yarnton Road Stadium.
