Patrick O'Flanagan Memorial Veterans Cup

About the Patrick O’Flanagan Memorial Veterans Cup

The Patrick O’Flanagan Memorial Veterans Cup is the club cup competition for affiliated veterans teams with players aged 35 years and over.

History of the Cup

Formally known as the Oxfordshire FA Veterans Cup the competition was renamed following the sad passing of Patrick O’Flanagan in 2016. Patrick was a former member of Oxfordshire FA Council and Competition Secretary for the Veterans and Charity Cups. He was a tremendous servant to the grassroots game in Oxfordshire both for Kingham and the Witney & District FA whilst also refereeing for over 20 years.

The Veterans Cup has been previously contested 15 times with Kidlington winning the inaugural competition in 2007. Thame United have recorded the most wins with five with the latest coming in the 2022/23 season following their 4-2 victory over Watlington Town Veterans Old Boys.

Clanfield (85) Vets are the current holders lifting the Patrick O'Flanagan Memorial Trophy for the first time following a 4-2 penalties victory over Thame United at the ASM Stadium.
