Joe Roughton Under-18 Youth Cup
About the Cup
The Joe Roughton U18 Youth Cup is a knockout club cup competition open to all to affiliated youth teams at U18 and U17 age groups as approved by Oxfordshire FA. To be eligible to participate players must have reached the age of 15 as of midnight on the 31st August of the current playing season.
History of the Cup
The U18 Youth Cup is named after Joe Roughton, from Chipping Norton, who held posts of Oxfordshire FA President, Life Vice-President, Chairman, Vice Chairman and Divisional Representative.
The U18 Youth Cup was first contested in the 1936/37 season and won by Quarry Nomads. In the second season Oxford City Casuals were victorious with City, in various guises, going on to lift the trophy a record 17 times. City’s latest win was a 4-0 triumph over Kidlington U16’s in April 2022.
AFC Henley Hurricanes are the current holders of the Joe Roughton U18 Youth Cup lifting the trophy for the first time in their history following an 8-2 win over Eynsham Association at Kidlington FC's Yarnton Road Stadium.
