Fair Play
We fundamentally believe in fair play, and everyone should always feel safe, welcome, supported, and treated with dignity and respect.
Whether you play, watch, referee, coach, volunteer, or have other roles within the sport, we’re dedicated to the continuation of proactive promotion of positive behaviours and shared best practice.
Our commitment to effectively tackle any disrespect, discrimination, and poor discipline, which goes against the spirit of the game, remains as strong as ever.
Oxfordshire FA fully support The FA’s promise to introduce increasingly tougher sanctions, to deliver a game free from discrimination which is safe and inclusive for all. We’ll be urging our clubs, leagues, referees, coaches, captains, and spectators to support our national and local interventions to promote best behaviour and positive culture.
Those clubs that create a positive atmosphere and conducive culture will be applauded and tangibly rewarded by Oxfordshire FA.
We’ll continue to work closely with Club Welfare Officers to share best practice, and look forward to working with clubs to introduce Respect Marshals, to help encourage and promote good behaviour at matches.
Everyone should be able to have fun playing football. We’ll continue to encourage people to challenge poor behaviour by players, coaches, spectators, and others who have to potential to ruin the beautiful game.
With the backing of The FA, we’ll not hesitate to instigate formal disciplinary proceedings and deliver tough sanctions wherever needed as a deterrent to unacceptable acts.
Supporting our Match Officials also remains a very high priority. Over the next four years, we’ll be rolling out our ground-breaking new refereeing app, which was piloted through our strategic partnership with the Oxfordshire Youth Football League in 2023/24.
