Meet the Oxfordshire FA team

Oxfordshire FA’s staff team deliver the Association's strategic priorities and develop football in the County, under the leadership of Chief Executive and Senior Safeguarding Lead, Jonathan Duckworth.

The Football Development Team's role, led by our Head of Football Operations, is to support football for all as well as the growth and development of the game in the county through the delivery of The FA’s National Game Strategy and our own Strategic Plan.

Our Football Services Team manages discipline and supports clubs, leagues and officials to run the game effectively. Within Football Services, our Safeguarding work is led by our Designated Safeguarding Officer, who is responsible for leading and developing safeguarding, welfare and The FA's RESPECT programme to make our game as safe as possible.

Jonathan has overall responsibility for ensuring the inclusive and sustainable growth of grassroots football throughout the county, through the successful development and delivery of our strategic plan and vision.

Nigel is the County FA's Designated Safeguarding Officer responsible for supporting over 100 club and league welfare officers ensuring safeguarding is at the centre of all areas of our work as well as leading on safeguarding and poor practice investigations. 

Nigel is also the Referee Development Manger with responsibility for the recruitment, retention, and development of all OFA registered referees. Additionally, as the Education Manager he supports the education needs of our membership.

Ben is responsible for the delivery of our 17 County Cup competitions as well as overseeing key governance processes such as club and league affiliation and player registration.

Kate is responsible for providing support to football across the county including safeguarding, refereeing and affiliation.

FOOTBALL OPERATIONS

Andy is responsible for the development and protection of football facilities in the county, with a key focus on the creation and improvement of natural grass and football turf pitches.

Additionally, Andy is responsible for overseeing the County FA's marketing and communications, as well as managing commercial partnerships.

Alix is responsible for supporting our clubs, leagues, key partner organisations and communities to provide opportunities to inspire and enjoy football from under-7s to over-70s.

Alix also oversees our coach development programme.

Sam Lee

Club and Facilities Development Officer

Sam is responsible for the delivery of The FA's new England Accredited Thriving Community Clubs programme as well as supporting the development of our grassroots, National League System and Women's Pyramid clubs.

Additionally, Sam is will play a lead role in the improvement of grass pitches across the county as well as working with our clubs and key stakeholders to access funding for facility improvements.
